The book Hisn e Haseen is different from other books of Hadees duas for a very special reason. At the time when Damascus was about to be destroyed by an attack of the Mongols, Imam Al-Jazri, a great Mohaddas of that time, compiled all the duas from authentic Ahadees of RasulAllah صلى الله عليه وسلم and named it Hisn e Haseen (meaning The Strongest Fort/qilla). He presented this book as a gift to RasulAllah صلى الله عليه وسلم and requested him to pray for the muslims in turmoil. Soon he saw RasulAllah صلى الله عليه وسلم in his dream. In the dream, he was seated on the left side of RasulAllah صلى الله عليه وسلم. As in Arab culture , they put on their left side those people whom they want to protect, RasulAllah صلى الله عليه وسلم asked Imam Al-Jazri what he wanted. He requested for prayers for him and all muslims. RasulAllah صلى الله عليه وسلم granted his wish and prayed. He saw the dream on the night of thursday and on the night of Sunday, the enemy left without attacking. It is unknown till to date the real reason of their retreat. The author says that it was due to the prayers of RasulAllah صلى الله عليه وسلم that Allah saved him and all the other muslims with him. The duas in this book have a special "taseer" as RasulAllah صلى الله عليه وسلم himself accepted it. Although it has duas that should be recited according to need and occasion, but the knowledgeable people recite the book daily as part of their daily azkar routine due to the special barkat associated with its origin. The "taseer" of duas in this book "due to the acceptance of RasulAllah صلى الله عليه وسلم" is even today eminent for anyone who starts regularly reciting these duas daily.
